Who is Mark Walker Cycling Coach

 

Mark Walker is an experienced and highly skilled cycling coach known for his innovative and personalised training methods. With over 20 years of experience in sports science and coaching, Mark has honed his training techniques to help athletes at all levels achieve their goals.

 

Mark has a deep understanding of the physical and mental demands of cycling, and he uses this knowledge to develop tailored training programs that address each athlete's unique set of attributes.

 

He believes that the key to success in cycling is not just about building physical strength and endurance but also about developing a strong mental attitude and a deep understanding of the sport.

 

Mark's training programs are designed to help cyclists improve their speed, endurance, and overall fitness, using a combination of structured workouts, interval training, and strategic recovery periods. He works closely with each athlete to monitor their progress and adjust their training plan as needed to ensure that they continue to make progress and achieve their goals.

 

His athletes have experienced success at the highest levels.  Alex Dowsett won gold in the Commonwealth Games; held the hour record and 10 mile TT record; and won the Bayern-Rundfahrt stage race. Helen Wyman won national cyclocross titles, two European cyclocross champs and two Koppenberg ‘cross titles. And Blaine Hunt won a para world championship silver medal in the 1 km track time trial.

 

Other successes include numerous masters national titles on road and track, cyclocross league National Trophy wins. Mark also steered Simon Carr from cat 2 amateur to World Tour professional.
